Seton Hill returned home for a PSAC Crossover matchup with Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon at Offutt Field in Greensburg.
SHU rallied from 28-18 down with two touchdowns in the final four minutes of the contest as they defeated the Huskies 31-28. SHU is now 2-1 overall while Bloomsburg falls to 0-2.
On their second drive of the game, the Griffins took a 3-0 lead on a 33 yard field goal from
Rayyan Bataineh with 6:57 left in the first quarter. SHU carried the 3-0 lead into the second quarter.
The Huskies took advantage of an interception and the short field to take a 6-3 lead on a one yard touchdown run with 12:19 left in the half. Bloomsburg marched 52 yards in nine plays as they extended their lead to 14-3 with just seven seconds left in the half.
Late in the third quarter, the Griffins cut into the Huskie lead. They marched 74 yards on eight plays to trim the lead to 14-10.
Boden St Marie hit
Zach Schrockman with a 29 yard touchdown pass with 1:34 left in the third.
Early in the fourth quarter, the Huskies extended their lead to 21-10 with a 53 yard touchdown pass with 14:09 left in the quarter.
Anthony Campbell returned the kick 57 yards to the Bloom 41 and the Griffins took advantage of the short field.
Ky'Ron Craggette scored from four yards out and St Marie connected with
Clint Washington for the two point play as the Griffins cut the lead to 21-18 with 12:31 left.
Bloomsburg then moved the ball 75 yards in eight plays as they increased their lead to 28-18 on a 48 yard TD pass with 7:37 left. St Marie hit Washington with a 24 yard TD pass to trim the lead to 28-24 with 4:03 to play.
Darius Patterson intercepted a third down pass at the Huskies 31 to set up the game winning touchdown for the Griffins. St Marie capped off the short drive with an eleven yard touchdown run that gave SHU a 31-28 lead with 54 seconds to play. Bloom was able to move to the six yard line but missed a 23 yard field goal with three seconds left to close out the contest.
St Marie was 21-29 for 268 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown. Craggette rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Jayden Llanos had five catches for 65 yards.
Ritchie McCormack led SHU with 10 tackles.
Anthony Stribling added seven tackles and two sacks.
The Griffins will travel to West Chester next weekend in a PSAC Crossover matchup.
