Baseball Rallies for 5-3 win over IUP in PSAC Tourney

Seton Hill continued play in the 2025 PSAC Baseball Championships with a second round matchup with the third seed from the west Indiana (PA) at Cooper Park in Millersville on Thursday afternoon.   
 
The Griffins scored the final five runs of the contest as they rallied to defeat IUP 5-3 to advance to the winners bracket finals on Friday.  SHU is now 37-13 overall. 
 
The Crimson Hawks used two one out singles and a three run homer to take a 3-0 lead over the Griffins in the bottom of the fourth inning. 
 
SHU responded with two runs in their half of the fifth to trim the lead to 3-2.  Joe Fiedor drew a leadoff walk and scored on a homer from Jack Whalen as the Griffins cut the lead to one. 
 
The Griffins tied the game at three in the sixth after the tying run scored on an IUP error. 
 
Seton Hill took the lead for good in the seventh.  Matt Frazetta was hit by a pitch and moved to third on an error.  Brady McGuire drew a walk and stole second.  Both scored on a two run single from Max Mandler as SHU took a 5-3 lead. 
 
Mandler led the offense with two hits and two RBI.  Whalen also drove in two.  Evan Rossi earned the win with 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.  Zach Herb got the final three outs to earn the save. 
 
The Griffins will take on Millersville in the winners bracket final of the PSAC Tourney on Friday morning at 11 AM.
