Seton Hill continued play in the 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball Championships as they kicked off their best of three series with top seeded Millersville at Cooper Park in Millersville on Friday afternoon.
Millersville scored twice in the bottom of the first and never trailed in an 8-2 victory over the Griffins in game one of the best of three regional final. SHU falls to 38-16 while Millersville improves to 44-8.
Millersville jumped on the Griffins for a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. They used a leadoff walk and a pair of singles to load the bases with no one out. A hit batter forced in a run and a double play increased the lead to 2-0 for the Marauders.
The Marauders added a third run in the bottom of the fourth inning with a leadoff homer that barely cleared the left field wall. SHU got that run right back in the top of the fifth inning on a solo shot from
Mark Black. Millersville answered right back in the bottom of the fifth with a solo run to increase their lead to 4-1.
In the sixth,
Joe Fiedor led off with a single and scored on a two out RBI double from
Max Mandler. The Marauders added another run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to take an 8-2 lead over the Griffins.
Mandler and Black each drove in runs for the Griffins, each having an extra base hit.
SHU will continue play in the regional on Saturday afternoon with game two and a possible game three with Millersville.
