Griffins Advance in PSAC Tournament

Seton Hill began PSAC Tournament action on Tuesday afternoon as they hosted Lock Haven in a PSAC Quarterfinal in Greensburg.

The Griffins used a 10-2 run to overcome a 7-4 deficit as they rallied for a 14-12 victory over the Bald Eagles to advance into the PSAC Semifinals.  SHU is now 13-5 overall while Lock Haven ends the season at 9-8.

Lock Haven scored the first two goals of the contest as they took a 2-0 lead at the 8:25 mark of the first quarter.  Ruby DePalma and Skylar Orlowski answered back to tie the game at two with 43 seconds left.  The Bald Eagles took a 3-2 lead with 12 seconds left in the quarter. 

The Bald Eagles scored four of the first five goals of the second quarter to build a 7-3 lead over the Griffins.  Ella Wroblewski scored the lone SHU goal in the run.  Grace Agnello and Sydney Marusko scored two minutes apart as the Griffins trailed 7-5 with 4:12 left in the half.  Lock Haven scored the final goal of the half with 38 seconds left to take an 8-5 halftime lead.  

The third quarter was low scoring as the Griffins scored the only two goals of the quarter.  Orlowski scored midway through the quarter and DePalma scored with 10 seconds left as the Griffins cut the lead to 8-7.  

Orlowski scored just 39 seconds into the fourth quarter to tie the contest at eight.  Agnello scored at the twelve minute mark as the Griffins took their first lead of the contest with a 9-8 advantage.  Less than a minute later Orlowski scored to put the Griffins in front 10-8.  Mila Udovicic scored at the 8:25 mark to extend the lead to 11-8.  Lock Haven scored with 7:33 left to trim the lead to 11-9;  SHu then scored three times in two minutes to extend the lead to 14-9.  Agnello, Marusko and Orlowski scored as the Griffins took a five goal lead with 2:41 left.  

Orlowski led the Griffins with 5 goals and 4 assists.  Agnello finished with 3 goals and 3 assists.  DePalma and Marusko each scored a pair.  Udovicic added a goal and 3 assists.  Allison Hathaway added 8 saves in cage.  

SHU advances to the PSAC Semifinals on Friday when they'll travel to West Chester to meet the Golden Rams.
