Griffins Fall in PSAC Semifinal at West Chester

Seton Hill traveled to second ranked and top seed West Cheter for the PSAC Semifinals on Friday afternoon in West Chester, PA.

The Griffins used a five goal run to tie the score at seven but West Chester was able to defeat the Griffins by the score of 14-11 to advance to the finals.  SHU is now 13-6 while WCU is 17-0.

The Rams scored a pair of goals in the first seven minutes of the contest to take a 2-0 lead over the Griffins.  Brooklyn Miller scored with 4:16 left to cut the lead to 2-1.  West Chester scored a pair in less than a minute and took a 4-1 lead with 1:55 to play in the quarter.  With 1:12 left Sydney Marusko scored to trim the lead to 4-2.  

The Golden Rams scored the first three goals of the second quarter as they extended their lead to 7-2 with 7:39 left.  Just 32 seconds later Mila Udovicic scored to trim the lead to 7-4.  Skylar Orlowski and Udovicic scored less than a minute apart as the Griffins trailed just 7-5 at the break.  

SHU continued their run to start the second half as a pair of Grace Agnello goals tied the score at seven with 10:41 to play.  From this point on the calls started to go against the Griffins as they were given two yellow cards and three green cards which led to three West Chester goals and a 10-7 Ram lead with 5:49 to play.  Orlowski cut the lead to 10-8 with 3:53 left but another SHU yellow card led to a Ram goal and a 11-8 lead after three.  

The Golden Rams scored three times in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter to build a 14-8 lead.  Carley O'Mara scored with 6:17 left to cut the lead to 14-9.  A apir of goals from Udovicic cut the lead to 14-11 with 3:54 left but the Rams were able to run out the clock and keep the Griffins off the scoreboard the rest of the way.  

Udovicic led the Griffins with 4 goals and 1 assist. Orlowski added 2 goals and 4 assists. DePalma with 3 assists.  Allison Hathaway with 13 saves

SHU must now wait to see if they are one of the three at large teams to make the NCAA Tournament when the field is announced on Sunday evening.
