Seton Hill took a break from PSAC West play as they traveled to Frostburg, MD for an important NCAA Atlantic Regional contest against Frostburg State on Tuesday afternoon.
Frostburg State scored the final five runs of the contest as they rallied to defeat SHU 6-4 in a key regional contest. The Griffins fall to 28-11 while the Bobcats improve to 28-12.
SHU took a lead in the first inning of the nine inning contest.
Jack Whalen drew a leadoff walk. He moved to third on a single from
Owen Henne. Whalen later scored on an error as SHU took a 1-0 lead.
The Griffins added a second run in the second inning when Henne was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Frostburg cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the second inning.
Seton Hill added a pair in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. Whalen drew a one out walk and scored on a two run shot from Henne. Frostburg scored four times in the bottom of the fifth inning as they took a 5-4 lead over the Griffins.
Frostburg added an insurance run in the eighth after a two out walk and a double.
Henne had the only two Griffin hits in the contest.
The Griffins will host Point Park on Wednesday afternoon.
