Softball Splits With Gannon on Senior Day

``Seton Hill continued PSAC West action with a doubleheader at home against Gannon on Friday afternoon as the Griffins celebrated Senior Day.  

SHU used the arm and bat of Shelby Telegdy as they defeated Gannon 2-0 in game one.  Gannon earned the split with a 4-2 come from behind win in game two.  SHU is now 26-14 overall and 15-9 in the west while Gannon is 23-16 overall and 14-9.  

Seton Hill broke the scoreless tie in game one in the bottom of the fifth inning.  With one out, Kassidy Wittig reached on an error.  After an out, Shelby Telegdy homered on a 1-0 pitch over the left center field wall to give SHU a 2-0 lead.  

Paredes led the Griffins with two hits.  Telegdy earned her 12th win of the season with the complete game three hit shutout.  

The Griffins got on the scoreboard first in game two in the bottom of the fourth inning.  With two outs, Paredes hit a 2-0 pitch over the left field wall to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead.  

Gannon took advantage of a one out walk in the top of the sixth inning and followed it with two singles, the second one a two out, two RBI hit to take a 2-1 lead over the Griffins.  Gannon added a third run in the inning as they increased their lead to 3-1.  

SHU answered back in their half of the sixth inning.  Wittig and Bre Athey reached on infield singles to lead off the inning.  After a double play, Telegdy singled thru the left side to score Athey and cut the lead to 3-2.  

Gannon added an insurance run in the top of the seventh as they increased their lead to 4-2.  

The Griffins are scheduled to travel to Pitt Johnstown for a PSAC West doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.
