Griffins Open Home Portion of Schedule in Style

Seton Hill continued PSAC West play on Saturday afternoon with their home opener against Edinboro.

Seton Hill scored early and built an 18-5 halftime lead and cruised to a 24-8 victory over the Fighting Scots.  SHU is now 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the west.  

The Griffins took an early 2-0 lead on goals from Carley O'Mara and Ella Wroblewski with 11:10 let in the first half.  After an Edinboro goal, SHU answered with six straight goals as they took an 8-1 lead with 1:29 left in the quarter.  Skylar Orlowski scored a pair in the 6-0 run.  Mila Udovicic, Grace Agnello, Ruby DePalma and Carleigh Sutfin also scored in the run.  Orlowski scored with five seconds left in the quarter as SHU led 9-2.  

Elena Traficante opened the scoring in the second quarter for the Griffins.  Edinboro then scored three of the next four goals to cut the Griffins lead to 11-5.  The Griffins scored the next seven goals as they built an 18-5 halftime lead.  Agnello and Marusko each scored twice in the run.  Makenna Twombly, DePalma and Wroblewski also scored for SHU.  

Louisa Lagera scored a pair in the third quarter and Traficante added the third SHU goal of the quarter.  

Emma Haynes, Traficante and Brooklyn Miller scored for SHU in the fourth quarter.  

Traficante and Agnello each scored 3 goals and added 2 assists.  Agnello scored her 100th career goal in the contest.  Orlowski added 3 goals and an assist.  Wroblewski added 2 goals and 3 assists.  DePalma, Udovicic and Lagera each added 2 goals and 2 assists.  

The Griffins will host Slippery Rock on Wednesday afternoon in a PSAC West contest.
