Seton Hill kicked off the home portion of their 2025 season with a doubleheader against Charleston (WV) in Greensburg, PA on Wednesday afternoon.
SHU won game one by the score of 5-4. Charleston won game two in five innings, 10-2. SHU is now 4-2 on the season.
Charleston used two RBI singles in the top of the first inning of game one to take a 2-0 lead over the Griffins.
Seton Hill tied the game at two in the fourth inning.
Grace Paredes drew a leadoff walk and scored on a two run shot from
Shelby Telegdy. The Griffins took the lead in the fifth inning. With two outs,
Bre Athey doubled. She scored on a
Kassidy Wittig RBI single. Wittig then scored on a Paredes RBI single as SHU took a 4-2 lead.
The Golden Eagles cut the lead in half in the sixth with an RBI double. The Griffins got that run right back in the bottom half of the inning on a one out homer from
Brooklyn Fukushima.
Telegdy led the offense with two hits and two RBIs. She also earned the win in the circle.
Charleston scored five times in the top of the first inning of game two. The Griffins got one of those runs back in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI double from Telegdy. The Golden Eagles added a sixth run in the top of the second inning.
Telegdy had two hits, including the homer, in game two. She drove in both runs.
The Griffins are scheduled to travel to Ohio Dominican on Saturday afternoon.
