Seton Hill traveled to Greeneville, Tennessee for a three game set with Tusculum and kicked off the series with a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.
The Griffins opened the series with a sweep on Sunday. SHU defeated Tusculum 11-3 in game one and completed the sweep with a 7-2 win in game two. SHU is now 4-1 overall and Tusculum is 3-9 on the season.
Tusculum took a 2-0 lead over the Griffins in game one in the second inning. SHU cut the lead in half with a leadoff homer from
Owen Henne in the fourth inning.
Seton Hill took the lead in the fifth inning.
Matt Frazetta doubled to lead off the inning.
Mark Black singled to put runners on first and third.
Michael Gregos singled to score Frazetta. Black scored on a Henne sacrifice fly to take a 3-2 lead. SHU broke the game open in the sixth.
Brady McGuire doubled to lead off the inning.
Joe Fiedor singled to put runners on first and third.
Colin Ahr singled to score a run and make it 4-2. Frazetta doubled in two and Black added an RBI double to give SHU a 7-2 lead.
Ahr hit a two run homer in the seventh and
Owen Mandler added two runs with a double in the ninth.
Frazetta led the offense with three hits. Mandler, Ahr and Black each added two hits.
Jon McCullough earned the win. He went five innings.
SHU took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game two.
Jack Whalen singled to lead off the inning. He stole second and third and scored on a throwing error. Gregos drove in Ahr with an RBI ground out to give SHU a 2-0 lead in the second. Ahr then added a sacrifice fly in the third to increase the lead to 3-0.
Jakob Haynes homered to lead off the fourth inning. Frazetta homered in the fifth to make it 5-0. Mandler singled in the sixth to drive in two and give SHU a 7-0 lead.
Mandler had two hits and drove in two runs.
Julian Minaya earned the win in relief.
SHU will close out the three game set with a single game on Monday.
