Seton Hill made the trip to Edinboro, PA on Saturday afternoon as they continued PSAC West play with a road matchup with the Fighting Scots.

Edinboro outscored the Griffins by four in the second half as they rallied to defeat the Griffins 73-72. SHU falls to 14-12 overall and 7-11 in the PSAC.

After Edinboro opened the scoring with a three pointer, the Griffins responded with nine straight points to take a 9-3 lead less than four minutes into the contest.Â
Camden Brewer hit three free throws to close out the run after baskets from
Gabe Gillespie,
Edir Ortiz and
Kedrick Curtis. Five straight points from
Ryan Meis gave SHU a 16-8 lead with 11:16 to play in the half. Edinboro scored the next six points and trailed 16-14 at the midway point of the half.Â

Baskets from Brewer and Meis pushed the SHU lead back to 20-14 with 5:21 to play. Edinboro hit three three pointers to take a 23-22 lead but two baskets from Ortiz before the halftime whistle gave SHU a 26-23 halftime lead.Â

Edinboro tied the score right out of the break with a three point play. Five straight from Meis gave SHU a 31-26 lead with 17:18 to play. Edinboro responded with a 12-2 run as they took a 38-33 lead with 13:33 to play. A three pointer from Meis cut the lead to 38-36 with 13 minutes left. Edinboro led 44-38 at the mid point of the second half.Â

The Edinboro lead remained between three and eight points over the next seven minutes. SHU cut the lead to 58-53 on a three point play from Meis with 4:52 left but the Scots answered back with four straight to take a 62-53 lead with 4:18 to play. Curtis finished a three point play to cut the lead to 64-58 with 1:38 left.Â
James Rice hit a three with two seconds left to cut the lead to 73-72 and the Griffins then forced a turnover to give them a shot at a game winner with 2.1 seconds to play. The Griffins got a look at a long three but missed the final shot.

Meis scored a game high 31 points. Curtis also hit double figures with 19 points.

The Griffins will return home and host Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday evening for Senior Day. Â Â
