Men's Lacrosse Opens Season with Dominant Performance

Seton Hill began their 2025 season with a home matchup with Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in Greensburg.

The Griffins outscored the Redhawks 15-0 in the middle two quarters as they defeated Roberts Wesleyan by the score of 22-5.  

Wade Brunelle got the Griffins on the board quickly as he scored just ten seconds into the first quarter.  About 30 seconds later, Roberts tied the score at one.  Braeden Lockyer and Nate Herbster scored goals as the Griffins took a 3-1 lead midway through the quarter.  Carter Li extended the lead to 4-2 with a goal late in the first quarter.  

SHU dominated the middle two quarters as they outscored the Redhawks 15-0.  The Griffins scored eight goals in the second quarter.  Lockyer scored three times with Michael Coleman, Herbster, Colin Socker, Brunelle and Gavin Erickson scoring a single goal in the quarter.  

Brunelle scored a pair of goals in the third quarter as the Griffins outscored Roberts Wesleyan 7-0.  Coleman, Lockyer, Li, Carter Green and Riley Grudi each scored once in the quarter.  

Li and Erickson scored in the fourth in addition to Ayden Naranjo and Noah Radle.  

The Griffins outshot the Redhawks 58-35 and held a 37-14 advantage in shots on goal.  

Lockyer led the Griffins with seven points on five goals and two assists.  Brunele finished with four goals and two assists.  Li scored three goals.  Erickson, Herbster, Coleman each scored twice.  Will Cody made six saves in three periods of action.

The Griffins will travel to Chestnut Hill next Saturday afternoon.
