Seton Hill began PSAC Crossover action with a road matchup at East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon.
After the Griffins took an early 4-0 lead, the Warriors answered back with ten straight as they took a 10-4 lead with seven minutes to play. The Warriors built their lead to 18-8 with 4:27 left to play. Trailing 22-10, the Griffins scored the final ten points of the first quarter over the final two minutes as they cut the Warriors lead to 22-20.
Helene Cowan scored eight of the ten points.
The Warriors scored the first two points of the second quarter before the Griffins went on a 10-0 run to take a 30-24 lead with six minutes left in the half. The Warriors tied the score at 30 before the Griffins used a late 6-0 run to build a 38-36 halftime lead.
Both teams got off to slow starts in the third quarter as the Griffins scored the first four points of the quarter and led 42-36 with six minutes to play in the third quarter. The teams picked up the scoring over the final three minutes of the quarter with each team scoring eight points and the Griffins leading 51-47 after three quarters of play.
The Warriors hit the opening basket of the fourth quarter but the Griffins responded with seven straight on a three from
Emma Fischer and two baskets from
Hallie Cowan to lead 58-49 with 7:34 left. Back to back baskets from
Mia Kalich and then back to back baskets from
Hailee Ford gave the Griffins a 71-60 lead with 3:42 left in the contest. The Warriors cut the lead to 73-65 but a basket from Ford and a three from
Hallie Cowan pushed the advantage back to 78-65 with 40 seconds to play.
Helene Cowan leads four Griffins in double figures with 21 points.
Hallie Cowan added 19 points. Ford posted a double double of 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Mia Kalich posts a double double of 11 points and 19 rebounds.
The Griffins will next host Lock Haven on Wednesday, December 17th at 2 PM.
