Hallie's Career High Leads Griffins to Road WIn

Seton Hill kicked off a weekend in eastern Pennsylvania with a non conference matchup at Chestnut Hill on Friday afternoon.  

Hallie Cowan scored a career high 30 points as the Griffins defeated Chestnut Hill 93-71.  SHU is now 4-2 overall.  

A three pointer from Hallie Cowan and baskets from Mia Kalich and Emma Fischer gave SHU a 9-5 lead midway through the first quarter.  The Griffins led 20-13 after one quarter of action.  

SHU opened the second quarter by scoring the first six points as they extended their lead to 26-13 four minutes into the quarter.  The Griffins led 39-31 at the halftime break.  

Back to back three pointers from the Cowan twins and a Shaye Bailey free throw pushed the Griffins lead to 50-35 with 6:12 left in the third.  Chestnut Hill battled back to cut the lead to 54-45 with 4:21 left in the quarter.  SHU answered with a 9-2 run over the next two minutes to build their lead back to 63-47.  SHU led 66-50 after three quarters of action.  

Threes from Kalich and Hallie Cowan extended the Griffins lead to eighteen points early in the fourth quarter.  SHU was able to push their lead to as many as 24 before settling for a 22 point victory.  

The Griffins shot 51% from the floor while holding Chestnut Hill to just 43%.  

Hallie Cowan led the Griffins with a career high 30 points.  Hailee Ford added 16 points.  Helene Cowan finished with 15 points and Kalich had a double double of 13 points and 16 rebounds.  

SHU will begin PSAC Crossover action on Saturday at East Stroudsburg.
