Seton Hill hit the road for a non conference matchup at the University of Findlay on Friday afternoon.
Five Griffins reached double figures in the 73-57 win over the Oliers. SHU is now 2-2 overall. Findlay falls to 2-1. Â
SHU took an early 6-2 lead behind four points from
Helene Cowan. Six straight points from
Shaye Bailey gave SHU a 14-7 lead with 5:26 left in the quarter. SHU led 22-19 after one quarter of play. Â
Two jumpers from
Hailee Ford extended the Griffins lead to 28-20 with 8:07 left.Â
Emma Fischer hit a three with 4:31 left to give SHU a 33-23 lead with 4:31 left. Findlay then outscored the Griffins 11-0 the rest of the half to take a 34-33 lead. Â
Findlay scored the first six points of the second half as they took a 40-33 lead. A three pointer from
Helene Cowan tied the score at 40 with five minutes to play. A late basket from
Helene Cowan gave SHU a 50-47 lead after three quarters of action. Â
Over the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, the Griffins outscored the Oilers 17-4 as they took a 67-51 lead. The Oilers would get no closer than 12 points the rest of the way. Â
Mia Kalich led five in double figures with a double double of 17 points & 11 rebounds.Â
Helene Cowan added 13. Ford finished with 12. Bailey added 11 and
Hallie Cowan scored 10.
The Griffins will host West Liberty on Tuesday morning at 11:30 AM.
