Seton Hill hosted Malone on Tuesday afternoon in the home opener for the Griffins.
The Griffins shot just 18% from three point land in an 81-72 loss. SHU falls to 1-2 overall while the Pioneers improve to 3-0 on the season.
Both teams got off to slow starts in the contest with the Griffins taking a 7-6 lead on an
Helene Cowan basket at the 6:20 mark. Over the next three minutes the Pioneers outscored the Griffins 7-0 to take a 13-7 lead.
Hallie Cowan hit a three pointer late in the quarter to cut the Malone lead to 15-12.
Over the first five minutes of the second quarter, the Pioneers were able to build their lead to 30-16. The Griffins were able to cut the lead to 36-23 at the halftime break.
A 10-0 run by the Griffins early in the third quarter cut the Malone lead to 39-36 with 7:31 to play. Four different Griffins scored in the run. Malone was able to push their lead back to ten at the 4:23 mark. Baskets from

Mia Kalich cut the lead to 52-48 with 2:21 left. Malone scored the last six points of the quarter to take a 58-48 lead.
The Pioneers scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to extend their lead to 16 points. SHU was able to cut the lead to eight on back to back to back layups from Bailey, Kalich and
Hallie Cowan at the 1:57 mark.
Hallie Cowan led SHU with 21 points. Kalich finished with 14 points.
Helene Cowan added 12 points and Bailey scored 11 off the bench.
SHU will travel to Findlay on Friday afternoon.
