Seton Hill got in final prep for the PSAC West season as they hosted Fairmont State in a non conference matchup in the final contest before the Griffins open PSAC West action.
The Griffins got a goal late in the second half to defeat the Falcons by the score of 1-0. SHU is now 2-0-1 on the season.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half. Fairmont held a 10-4 advantage in shots in the first half. Each team had a corner kick.Â
Sydney Caldwell made three saves in the half. Â
The Griffins got on the board in the 74th minute.Â
Heather Russell found
Samantha Hallo near midfield where Hallo beat a Falcon defender and was able to move down the left side of the field. She moved around another defender near the top of the box and beat the keeper to the far side of the net for the 1-0 lead.Â
Caldwell was able to keep the Falcons off the scoreboard, finishing with eight saves in the shutout win. Hallo led the Griffins with two shots on goal.Â
Seton Hill will begin PSAC West play on Saturday as they travel to Slippery Rock. Â
