Seton Hill closed out their final four game PSAC West series as they hosted Gannon for a PSAC West doubleheader on Friday afternoon.
Gannon defeated the Griffins in game one 7-6. SHU responded with a 3-0 win in game two to earn the split. SHU is now 36-13 overall and 20-8 in the west, good for the PSAC West title.
The Griffins took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Owen Henne drew a leadoff walk.
Owen Mandler was hit by a pitch.
Owen Sabol doubled to score Henne and
Max Mandler followed with a sacrifice fly to give SHU a 2-0 lead.
Gannon tied the score at two with a pair of runs in the top of the third inning. The Knights took a lead in the fourth.
SHU tied the game at three with a solo homer in the fifth. Gannon retook the lead, 4-3, in the sixth.
Owen Mandler tied the game at four with a single in the sixth.
Matt Frazetta drew a bases loaded walk to put the Griffins in front. Mandler then scored on a wild pitch to give SHU a 6-4 lead.
The Knights scored three times in the seventh, two of them coming after two outs for a 7-6 win.
Sabol had a double and a homer and two RBI.
Henne was hit by a pitch to open game two. He stole second. Henne scored when
Jack Oberdorf reached on an error to put the Griffins in front 1-0. Oberdorf later scored on a
Max Mandler single to give SHU a 2-0 lead.
The Griffins increased their lead to 3-0 in the fourth on a Henne RBI single.
Andino Vecchiolla earned the win with five shutout innings. He allowed just two hits and struck out nine.
Ian Korn threw two scoreless innings.
The Griffins will begin play on Wednesday in the PSAC Tournament at Slippery Rock against #4 seed Shippensburg at 8:30 PM.
