Seton Hill hosted Lock Haven on Wednesday afternoon at DSG Field in a matchup between two of the top teams in the PSAC West standings..
Lock Haven scored the game winner with 8.9 seconds to play in regulation as they forced 28 Griffin turnovers in an 11-10 victory over Seton Hill. The Griffins drop to 6-4 overall and 4-1 in the west while Lock Haven improves to 9-1 overall and 4-1 in the west. Â
The Griffins got off to a great start as they took a 4-1 lead in the first period of action. Lock Haven scored the opening goal of the period but the Griffins responded with four straight.Â
Skylar Orlowski,
Grace Agnello and
Carley O'Mara scored 1:19 apart as the Griffins took a 3-1 lead at the 8:11 mark. Orlowski scored late in the period to give SHU the three goal advantage after one period of play. Â
The second period was all Lock Haven as they outscored the Griffins 6-1. The Bald Eagles scored the first three goals of the quarter to tie the game at four with 11:19 to play. Agnello scored at the 10:30 mark to put the Griffins back in front 5-4. Lock Haven scored the final three goals of the quarter to take a 7-5 lead over the Griffins at the half. Â
Agnello scored early in the third quarter to cut the LHU lead to 7-6. Lock Haven scored with 4:21 to play to extend their lead back to two at 8-6. Orlowski and
Amara Forsyth scored less than a minute apart to tie the game at eight with 2:17 left in the quarter. Â
Orlowski put the Griffins in front 9-8 just 42 seconds into the fourth quarter. Lock Haven answered with a pair of goals to take a 10-9 lead with 3:12 to play. Less than a minute later,
Mila Udovicic tied the score at ten. Lock Haven scored the game winner with 8.9 seconds to play.
SHU dominated the draws winning 19 of the 24 draws. SHU committed 28 turnovers and was just 13-22 in clears. SHU outshot Lock Haven 32-27. Â
Orlowski led SHU with four goals. Agnello added three goals. Udovicic added a goal and assists.Â
Ruby DePalma finished with three assists.Â
Allison Hathaway made nine saves in net.
SHU will return to action next Wednesday when they travel to IUP.
