Huge Comeback Carries Women’s Lacrosse to Important PSAC West Road Win

Seton Hill traveled to Lock Haven on Wednesday afternoon for another important PSAC West contest between two of the top teams in the western division standings.
 
In one of the crazier turnarounds you'll ever see, Seton Hill used a 16-0 run in the final three quarters, to erase a 7-2 deficit and earn an 18-8 victory over the Bald Eagles.  Seton Hill improves to 11-4 overall and 9-1 in the west, good for sole possession of first place.  Lock Haven falls to 12-3 overall and 7-3 in the west. 
 
The first quarter was all Lock Haven as the Bald Eagles took a 7-2 lead over the Griffins.  Lock Haven scored the first five goals of the first quarter as they built an early 5-0 lead with 4:43 to play in the first.  Grace Agnello scored with 4:08 to play to get the Griffins on the board.  Lock Haven answered at the 2:26 mark to push the lead back to five.  Mila Udovicic scored at the two minute mark to trim the lead to 6-2.  The Eagles closed out the scoring with a goal with 1:23 to play. 
 
The second quarter was all Seton Hill as they scored all eight goals of the quarter to take a 10-7 halftime lead.  Skylar Orlowski scored the first of her three second quarter goals to open the scoring in the second.  Piper Conlan and Agnello scored a minute apart to trim the lead to 7-5 with 10:29 to play.  Orlowski scored a free possession shot at the eight minute mark as the Griffins trailed by just one at 7-6.  Conlan tied the score at seven with a goal at the 6:37 mark.  Orlowski scored another free possession shot to give the Griffins their first lead of the game at the 4:08 mark.  Ruby DePalma and Agnello scored before the half as the Griffins took a 10-7 halftime lead. 
 
The Griffin run continued into the third quarter.  Less than a minute in Conlan scored to extend the lead to four.  Conlan scored at the 7:57 mark as SHU took a 12-7 lead.  Agnello's fourth of the game pushed the lead to 13-7 at the four minute mark.  Conlan scored her fifth goal as the Griffins extended their run to 12-0 and SHU took a 14-7 lead with 2:46 to play.  Orlowski pushed the lead to eight with a goal with 54 seconds to play.  Orlowski beat the third quarter buzzer with her fifth goal extended the Griffins lead to 16-7 after three.
 
Seton Hill continued their run into the fourth quarter.  DePalma scored 1:34 into the fourth quarter to put the mercy rule into effect.  Udovicic followed with a goal with just over ten minutes to play as SHU built their lead to 18-7. 
 
Orlowski tied a career high with 10 points on five goals and five assists.  Conlan set a new career high with nine points on five goals and four assists.  Agnello finished with four goals and an assist.  DePalma and Udovicic each scored twice.  Allison Hathaway finished with 12 saves in relief in goal to earn the win.  Orlowski led the team with nine draw controls.  Makayla Kintner added eight and Udovicic finished with four. 
 
The Griffins will travel to Mercyhurst on Saturday as they continue PSAC West play.
