Women’s Lacrosse Picks up Huge PSAC West Win on Senior Day

Seton Hill hosted Slippery Rock on Senior Day in a battle between the top two teams in the PSAC West standings. 
 
Skylar Orlowski scored 1:39 into the first overtime period to give the Griffins a key PSAC West victory with an 11-10 win over the Rock.  SHU moves into sole possession of first place with an 8-1 mark in PSAC West play.  The Griffins are 10-4 overall.  The Rock falls to 10-3 overall and 6-2 in the west. 
 
The Rock took a 3-1 lead over the Griffins with 3:16 left in the first quarter as they scored three of the first four goals of the quarter.  Mila Udovicic scored the lone SHU goal in the run.  Piper Conlan scored with 2:40 to play in the quarter to trim the Rock lead to 3-2. 
 
Udovicic and Conlan scored 42 seconds apart to open the second quarter scoring and give the Griffins a 4-3 lead with 13:41 to play in the half.  The Rock tied the score at four with a goal at the 10:59 mark.  Skylar Orlowski scored a pair of goals to put the Griffins in front 6-4 but the Rock scored with 22 seconds to play in the half to cut the lead to 6-5. 
 
The Griffins scored the only three goals of the third quarter as they extended their lead to 9-5.  Orlowski scored the first and last goal and Conlan scored the one in the middle as SHU took a four goal lead into the fourth. 
 
Slippery Rock scored the first five goals of the fourth quarter, the final one at the 4:34 mark as they took a 10-9 lead over the Griffins.  Seton Hill tied the score on a late goal from Amara Forsyth with just 22 seconds to play in regulation. 
 
The Griffins won the opening draw in overtime with Makayla Kintner earning the draw.  Forsyth picked up a key ground ball off a Rock save to keep possession with the Griffins and Orlowski forced a foul to get a free position shot which she buried just 1:39 into the overtime period to give the Griffins the victory.
 
Orlowski led the offense with five goals and an assist. Conlan finished with three goals.  Udovicic added two goals and two assists.  Kintner finished with four caused turnovers and three draw controls.  Forsyth added six ground balls. 
 
The Griffins will travel to Lock Haven on Wednesday as they continue an important stretch of PSAC West play.
