Seton Hill hosted Gannon on Wednesday afternoon in a PSAC West contest at DSG Field.
The Griffins used a big second half in route to an 18-4 victory over the Golden Knights. SHU is now 9-4 overall and 7-1 in the west. Â
Both teams got off to a slow start as there was only one goal scored in the quarter.Â
Mya Hibsman scored the lone goal of the quarter at the 9:53 mark. Â
Just over a minute into the second quarter,
Skylar Orlowski extended the Griffin lead to 2-0. SHU then answered a Gannon goal with three straight goals to take a 5-1 lead.Â
Piper Conlan scored twice and
Grace Agnello added one in the three goal run. Conlan scored her third right before the halftime break to give SHU a 6-2 halftime lead. Â
The Griffins scored four times in the first four minutes of the third quarter to extend their lead to 10-2. Orlowski, Hibsman, Agnello and
Ella Wroblewski scored the Griffin goals. After a Gannon goal, the Griffins closed out the quarter with three more goals to start the running clock. Agnello scored the first goal and
Mila Udovicic scored the final two. Â
Wroblewski scored a pair in the fourth quarter with Agnello, Orlowski and Conlan each scoring one. Â
SHU outshot Gannon 33-18. The Griffins doubled up Gannon in ground balls 24-12. Â
Agnello and Conlan each scored four with Conlan adding an assist. Orlwoski and Wroblewski each scored three with Orlowski adding an assist. Udovicic added two goals and four assists. Hibsman added a pair.Â
Makayla Kintner had eight draw controls and five caused turnovers.Â
Giavonna Spadafora added four caused turnovers. Â
The Griffins will host Slippery Rock on Senior Day on Saturday. Â
