Offense Carries Griffins to Doubleheader Sweep of Clarion

Seton Hill continued play with a PSAC West doubleheader in Greensburg, PA against Clarion on Sunday afternoon.   
 
Seton Hill defeated Clarion 10-2 in five innings in game one of the doubleheader.  The Griffins completed the sweep of the Golden Eagles with an 8-0 win in five innings in game two.  SHU is now 29-9 overall and 17-3 in the west.    
 
The Griffins jumped on Clarion in the first.  Camryn Murphy and Grace Paredes singled to put two runners on.  Morgan Toal followed with a three run shot to left center to give SHU a 3-0 lead. 
 
SHU sent 10 batters to the plate in the second and scored seven runs to take a 10-0 lead.  Murphy had a bases clearing three RBI double to score the first three runs.  Grace Paredes added an RBI single.  Kassidy Wittig added two more runs with a double and later scored on an error to give SHU a 10-0 lead. 
 
Clarion got two runs back in the top of the fourth inning with a two run shot to left field. 
 
Dellett led the offense with three hits.  Murphy, Paredes and Toal each had two hits for SHU.  Murphy and Toal each drove in three.  Dellett earned her 13th win of the season with a complete game effort.  She allowed one hit and struck out five.
 
SHU took an early lead in game two on back to back jacks from Murphy and Paredes in the bottom of the first inning. 
 
The Griffins added a run in the second.  Mackenzie Zang doubled with one out and scored on a Grandey single. 

SHU increased their lead to 7-0 in the third.  Murphy walked and Paredes singled.  Toal drove in a run with a double.  Wittig walked and then all three runs scored on wild pitches to make it 7-0. 
 
The Griffins scored the eighth run in the bottom of the fourth.  With one out, Murphy walked and stole second.  She scored on a two out, RBI single from Toal. 
 
Paredes and Toal each had two hits for the Griffins.  Toal drove in two runs. Logan Hartman earned her 16th win of the season with another complete game shutout.  She allowed three hits and struck out seven. 
 
The Griffins will return to action on Tuesday when they host Pitt Johnstown for a PSAC West doubleheader.
