Baseball Swept by IUP

Seton Hill began the four game PSAC West series as they hosted Indiana (PA) in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Indiana (PA) scored eight times in the fourth inning in route to a 13-3 victory over the Griffins in game one of the doubleheader.  IUP completed the sweep of the Griffins with a 5-4 win in game two. 
 
IUP scored eight times in the top of the fourth to take an 8-0 lead over the Griffins. 
 
Max Mandler homered with two outs in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 8-1.  IUP got that run right back in the top of the fifth with a leadoff solo homer to increase their lead to 9-1.  They added two more runs to take an 11-1.  IUP added another in the sixth as they led 12-1.
 
Seton Hill picked up a pair of runs in the seventh on a two run shot from Matt Frazetta
 
Max Mandler had a pair of hits for the Griffins.   
 
SHU took a 1-0 lead in the second inning of game two.  Owen Henne doubled and scored on a Jakob Haynes single. 
 
The Griffins increased their lead to 2-0 in the third on an RBI double from Frazetta. 
 
IUP took the lead with three runs in the top of the fourth as they took a 3-2 lead over the Griffins. 
 
Owen Mandler doubled to drive in Max Mandler and tie the game at five in the fifth. 
 
IUP retook the lead in the top of the sixth inning with a run.  SHU answered back in their half of the sixth.  Henne drew a leadoff walk and later stole second.  He scored on a two out RBI single from Jack Whalen to tie the score at four. 
 
The Crimson Hawks took a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh inning with an unearned run.
 
Whalen had two hits for the Griffins. 
 
The Griffins will continue play on Sunday afternoon as they host IUP to close out the four game set in Greensburg.  IUP will be the home team in each doubleheader.
