Seton Hill closed out their Florida Trip with a pair of games at the Auburndale Sports Complex. The Griffins played Northwood in game one and Lynn in game two.
The Griffin bats broke out in game one as they scored 14 times over their final four at bats for a 14-4 win over Northwood. SHU completed the sweep with a 5-2 win over Lynn in game two. SHU is now 11-5 overall.
Neither team cracked the scoreboard until Northwood took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
The Griffins answered with four in the top of the fourth.
Nina Grandey singled to lead off the inning.
Kassidy Wittig walked.
Morgan Toal singled to load the bases.
Grace Paredes was hit by a pitch to force in a run. After an out,
Lauren Dellett singled in two and
Brooklyn Fukushima knocked in one to give SHU a 4-1 lead.
SHU added five more in the fifth. Grandey and
Camryn Murphy singled to put runners on second and third. Toal reached on a fielders choice after Grandey avoided the catchers tag to make it 5-1. Paredes was hit by a pitch and
Mackenzie Zang followed with a two RBI single. Dellett scored one on a RBI ground out and Fukushima added an RBI single as SHU led 9-1.
Northwood got one in the bottom of the fifth to keep the game alive.
SHU put the game away with five in the seventh. Grandey knocked in two with a single. Murphy added a two RBI single and Paredes added an RBI groundout as SHU led 14-4.
Grandey and Fukushima each had three hits. Murphy and Toal each added two hits. Dellett drove in three and struck out six to earn the win.
Against Lynn, SHU struck for two in the bottom of the first. Grandey and Murphy singled to put runners on second and third with no one out. Paredes reached on a fielders choice with Grandey scoring on obstruction. Zang followed with an RBI single to give SHU a 2-0 lead.
After Lynn scored in the top of the third, the Griffins answered back with a solo shot from Paredes to take a 3-1 lead.
The Griffins added two more in the fourth. Fukushima singled to lead off the inning and scored on a Grandey homer to center.
Grandey had three hits to lead the offense. She homered and drove in two. Paredes homered and drove in two.
Logan Hartman improved to 6-2 with the win. She struck out three in the win.
The Griffins will return to action on March 19
th when they host Clarion to open PSAC West play.
