Seton Hill will close out their Florida with a pair of games against Florida Southern in Lakeland. SHU played the first game on Friday afternoon.
The Griffins took an early lead but Florida Southern used a three run third inning in route to a 5-2 victory over the Griffins. SHU falls to 8-5 overall while FSC is 8-8.
SHU took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. With one out,
Braden Durham singled.
Jack Whalen was hit by a pitch and
Colin Ahr walked to load the bases.
Aidan Shephard was hit by a pitch to force in a run and give SHU the 1-0 lead.
Florida Southern scored three times in the bottom of the third inning to take a 3-1 lead over the Griffins.
In the fourth,
Jack Whalen was hit by a pitch, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI groundout from Ahr to cut the lead to 3-2.
The Mocs scored on a wild pitch in the fourth and added an RBI single in the 8
th for the 5-2 win.
The Griffin had just three hits in the loss.
The Griffins will close out their Florida trip on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Lakeland to take on Florida Southern.
