Seton Hill continued their Florida trip with a matchup in the afternoon with Ashland on Thursday in Davenport.
The Griffins could not take advantage of their baserunners in the first five innings as they stranded seven and Ashland used a six run fifth inning to defeat the Griffins 6-3. SHU falls to 8-4 overall while Ashland improves to 8-1.
The Griffins got on the board first with two outs in the top of the first.
Owen Mandler was hit by a pitch.
Matt Frazetta followed with a single to put two runners on.
Max Mandler singled to left center to give SHU a 1-0 lead.
SHU added a run in the third. After an out, Frazetta doubled. He moved to third on a
Max Mandler single. Frazetta and Mandler then executed a double steal to give SHU a 2-0 lead.
Ashland took advantage of some Griffin wildness in the early portion of the fifth inning and then used a key two out grand slam to take a 6-2 lead over the Griffins.
SHU got one back in the seventh.

Owen Sabol doubled to score Owen and cut the lead to 6-3.
Frazetta led the Griffins with three hits.
Max Mandler added two.
The Griffins return to action on Friday afternoon when they travel to Lakeland to take on Florida Southern.
