Women's Lacrosse Opens PSAC West Play with Win

Seton Hill opened PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon when they hosted Edinboro in Greensburg at a windy DSG Field.

Seton Hill opened a 10-0 lead after the first quarter which allowed for the running clock throughout the contest and a 21-2 victory over the Fighting Scots.  SHU has now won three in a row and is 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC West.  

The Griffins got off to a quick start, scoring six times in just a 2:40 stretch to build an early 6-0 lead.  Skylar Orlowski opened the scoring and Makenna Twombly scored 17 seconds later to give SHU a 2-0 lead.  Carleigh Sutfin scored at the 12:36 mark.  Brooklyn Miller, Orlowski and Ruby DePalma scored in a 49 second stretch to build the lead to 6-0.  DePalma scored the next one followed by two from Amara Forsyth and one more from Sufin gave SHU a 10-0 lead.  

Carley O'Mara opened the scoring in the second quarter for the Griffins.  Edinboro scored their first to cut the lead to 11-1.  Mya Hibsman scored a pair of goals to wrap up the first half scoring.  

Sydney Marusko scored a pair of goals in the third quarter.  Tori Krapp and Grace Agnello each added one before Piper Conlan beat the third quarter buzzer to give SHU an 18-1 lead.  

Hibsman, Conlan and Marusko closed out the scoring for the Griffins.  

Hibsman and Marusko led the team with three goals each.  Sutfin, DePalma, Orlowski, Conlan and Forsyth each scored twice.  DePalma added four assists.  Orlowski added two assists and Conlan added one.  Kayla Seiler led SHU with five caused turnovers and four ground balls.  Makayla Kintner added seven draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls.  

SHU will continue PSAC West play on Saturday at Slippery Rock.
