Griffins Clinch PSAC Playoff Spot With Senior Day Win

Seton Hill hosted Edinboro on Senior Day on the Hill as the Griffins honored four seniors on Saturday afternoon.  

The Griffins defeated Edinboro 81-60 and clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament with the win.  SHU is now 15-11 overall and 10-10 in the PSAC.  

Back to back baskets from Drew Green and Caleb Whitaker gave SHU an early 4-0 lead.  Edinboro answered back with the next six to take a 6-4 lead.  A three from Jimmy Moon and a Green basket put the Griffins in front 9-6 four minutes into the contest.  Back to back threes from James Rice and Ryan Meis extended the lead to 15-7 with 15 minutes to play.  A three from Camden Brewer and a Whitaker layin put the Griffins in front 24-14 midway through the half.  

A three point play from Whitaker gave SHU a 30-20 lead with 4:04 remaining in the half.  SHU extended their lead to 15 on a three from Moon before settling for a 38-26 halftime lead.  

Baskets from Sean Dillon and Green and two Whitaker free throws extended the Griffins lead to 44-28 less than three minutes into the half.  A quick 6-0 run from the Griffins pushed the lead to 61-44 midway through the second half.  

Dillon's three pointer extended the lead to 21 with five minutes to play.  The lead got to as many as 26 points. 

The Griffins shot 59% from the floor and 44% from three point land while holding Edinboro to 36% from the floor and 36% from three.  

Whitaker led the Griffins with 15 points.  Moon added 14 points.  Dillon and Meis each finished with nine points.  Green added eight points.  

The Griffins will travel to Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday evening.
