Seton Hill closed out PSAC Crossover action for the weekend with a road matchup at Kutztown on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins built an eleven point halftime lead and continued to add on in the second half as they defeated the Golden Bears by an 89-72 score. SHU is now 10-0 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC.
The first quarter featured three ties over the first seven minutes of action. SHU then took the lead with an 8-0 run late in the quarter.
Hallie Cowan hit a three pointer in the run. SHU led 19-13 at the end of the first quarter.
Anna Rafferty hit a basket and
Hallie Cowan followed with a basket with two free throws from
Helene Cowan gave SHU an 27-18 lead with 5:46 left in the half. An
Helene Cowan three extended the lead to 32-20 midway through the second quarter. A 7-0 run extended the Griffins lead to 39-22 with two minutes to play. SHU led 39-28 at the halftime break.
Kutztown trimmed the lead to eight early in the half before baskets from
Abby Mankins and
Mia Kalich pushed the lead back to twelve at 45-33 with 7:49 to play. The lead was extended to 19 points on a three pointer from
Hallie Cowan at the end of the third quarter.
The Griffins pushed their lead to as many as 21 in the fourth quarter before settling for the 17 point win.
Hallie Cowan led SHU with a double double of 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Mia Kalich also had a double double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Christiane Frye finished with 15 points.
SHU will next return to action on December 18th when they host East Stroudsburg.
