The Seton Hill men's basketball team closed out the home portion of the PSAC Crossover matchups as they hosted East Stroudsburg on Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors outscored the Griffins by four points in each half in route to an 80-72 victory over the Griffins. SHU falls to 9-4 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC while ESU improves to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC. Â
Seton Hill took an early 6-2 lead over the Warriors behind four points from
Kedrick Curtis. A three point play from Curtis and three free throws from
Ryan Meis extended the Griffins lead to 12-6 with 16:35 left in the half. The Warriors scored seven straight to take their first lead of the game at 13-12 with 14 minutes left. A Meis three pointer gave SHU an 18-15 lead midway through the half. Â
The Griffins extended their lead back to five points on a
James Rice jumper at the six minute mark. A Rice three pointer gave SHU a 31-30 lead with 2:25 to play. The Warriors ended the half on a 7-2 run as they took a 37-33 halftime lead. Â
The Warriors pushed their lead to nine in the first minute of the second half. They pushed the lead to 12 on a three pointer at the 15 minute mark. The lead remained between nine and fifteen over the next 13 minutes as the Griffins could not really cut into the Warrior lead. Edir Orti hit a three pointer that trimmed the lead to 78-72 with 31 seconds to play. Â
Meis led the Griffins with 15 points. Curtis added 13 points.Â
Gage Lattimore added 12 points. Rice also reached double figures with 10 points. Â
The Griffins will travel to West Chester on Saturday afternoon for another PSAC Crossover matchup. Â
