Seton Hill played their second contest in the PSAC/MEC Challenge in Lock Haven as they took on MEC foe Concord on Saturday evening.
The Griffins scored 67 first half points as the offense exploded for a 120-77 victory over the Mountain Lions. SHU improves to 2-0 on the season.
The 120 points are the most by a Griffin team since the 2018-19 team scored 127 in a win over WV State. SHU finished the contest shooting 64% from the floor. The Griffins started the game 27 for 37 in the first half from the floor.
SHU came out of the gates fast, scoring the first 13 points of the contest in less than four minutes of play.
Hallie Cowan scored the first seven for SHU and
Christiane Frye added four more in the early run. The Griffins scored 37 points in the first quarter as they built a 37-21 lead.
In the second quarter, the Griffins hit 12 of their 15 field goals as they were able to build their lead. The Griffins built their lead to as many as 32 points before settling for a 29 point halftime lead at 67-38.
Seton Hill built their lead to as many as 40 points in the third quarter. SHU led 94-56 at the end of the third quarter.
A layup from
Gianna Sturdivant gave the Griffins their largest lead of the game, 47, at 105-58 with 7:09 left in the fourth.
Frye led five Griffins in double figures with 22 points.
Hallie Cowan added 19 points.
Shaye Bailey tossed in 17 points.
Helene Cowan finished with 16 points.
Mia Kalich had a double double of 15 points and 18 rebounds. She also added seven assists.
Anna Rafferty just missed double figures with nine points.
SHU will continue non conference play on Wednesday when they travel to West Liberty.
