Seton Hill kicked off a big weekend of PSAC West play with a trip to Clarion for a Friday evening matchup with the Golden Eagles.

Clarion swept the Griffins to open the weekend. SHU falls to 18-7 overall and 7-5 in the west.

The Griffins led 21-16 in the first set but Clarion went on a 6-0 run to take a 22-21 lead. A kill from
Paige Cole tied the set at 24 but two straight SHU hitting errors gave the Eagles the first set 26-24

Clarion jumped out to an early lead in the second set. An ace from
Abby Oesterling and a
Payton Rodberg kill gave SHU a 10-9 lead. Later in the set, the Griffins trailed 19-14. The Griffins responded with a 7-2 run to take a 22-21 lead. The teams then exchanged points before Clarion scored the final two in a 26-24 second set win.Â

Paige Cole led SHU with 16 kills. Rodberg added 10. Oesterling finished with 23 assists.Â
Kendyl Wagner added 16 digs. Cole also had four aces.

The Griffins will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Pitt Johnstown for another PSAC West matchup.
