Seton Hill closed out a big weekend of PSAC West play with a trip to Pitt Johnstown for a Saturday afternoon matchup with the Mountain Cats.
Pitt Johnstown defeated the Griffins in five sets as the Griffins dropped their third in a row. SHU is now 18-8 overall and 7-6 in the west. UPJ is now 18-8 overall and 5-7 in the west.
The Griffins won the first set easily by the score of 25-15. UPJ won the next two sets to take a 2-1 lead. They won the second set 25-21 and then took the third set 25-22. SHU forced a fifth set with a 25-18 fourth set win. UPJ won the match in the fifth set by the score of 15-13.
Paige Cole led the Griffins with 19 kills.Â
Catie Flohr finished with 15.Â
Abby Oesterling ran the offense with 38 assists. Oesterling,
Ella Deeter and
Kendyl Wagner had three aces each. Flohr reached double figures with 10 blocks. Wagner and
Maddie Stout each had 21 digs. Â
The Griffins will return to action on Saturday when they host Edinboro on Senior Day.
