Seton Hill returned to non conference action as they made the short trip to Pitt Greensburg on Tuesday afternoon.
The Griffins jumped out to an early 12-4 lead over the Bobcats just over five minutes into the contest. Six different Griffins scored in the early run. Another 10-0 run over a four minute span extended the Griffins lead to 24-10 with 10:50 to play in the half. Five different Griffins scored in this scoring run.
Back to back three pointers from the Bobcats trimmed the Griffins lead to 31-25 with five minutes to play in the half. The Griffins pushed their lead back to double digits on two free throws from
Gage Lattimore and a
Kedrick Curtis basket with 2:11 to play. SHU took a 41-31 lead into the halftime break.
The Griffins extended their lead to 50-35 with 16:15 left on back to back fast break layups from Lattimore and Curtis. Back to back threes from
Ryan Meis and
Carter Anderson extended the lead to 59-37 with 14:23 to play. Meis drilled another three as the Griffins extended their lead to 65-42 midway through the half.
The Bobcats scored six straight to trim the lead to 17 with 8:14 remaining. Layups from Curtis and
Gabe Gillespie pushed the lead back to 77-54 with five minutes to play. SHU took their biggest lead at 28 after back to back threes from
Camden Brewer and
Brandon Coury with 2:33 to play.
Curtis led the Griffins with a double double of 22 points and 13 rebounds. Lattimore added 13 points. Meis also reached double figures with 10 points.
The Griffins will play host to Glenville State on Saturday afternoon for another non conference matchup.
