Seton Hill continued a PSAC Crossover Weekend as they hosted Shippensburg on Saturday afternoon in the McKenna Center.
The Griffins hit the century mark as they won their sixth in a row with a 101-75 victory over the Raiders. SHU is now 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC. The Raiders drop to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC.
SHU jumped out to a quick 11-4 lead less than three minutes into the contest.
Helene Cowan scored seven points while sister Hallie scored the other four. A three pointer from
Abby Mankins extended the lead to 18-6 midway through the quarter. Back to back threes from Mankins and
Paula Llovich pushed the lead to 25-8 with 2:33 left. The Griffins led 28-12 at the end of the first quarter.
Two minutes into the second quarter, the Raiders trimmed the Griffin lead to ten. Midway through the quarter, the Griffins led 38-26. SHU then went on a 10-2 run as they built the lead to 48-28 with two minutes left in the half. A basket from Llovich and four points from
Christiane Frye gave SHU a 54-30 lead at the break.
A three pointer from
Hallie Cowan pushed the lead to 68-36 with 6:48 left in the quarter. SHU then used a 17-8 run as they extended their lead to 41 points with 1:35 left in the quarter. The Griffins led 87-48 at the end of the quarter.
Shippensburg outscored the Griffins 27-14 in the fourth quarter as the game was already out of hand.
The Griffins forced 30 Raider turnovers which led to 38 Griffin points in the win. SHU finished with 18 steals.
Frye led the Griffins with 20 points.
Hallie Cowan added 18 points. Kalich finished with 15 points and
Helene Cowan added 14.
Sakeria Haralson just missed double figures with nine points. Kalich had nine rebounds. Frye and the Cowan sisters each had six assists.
SHU will travel to Malone on Tuesday night for a non conference matchup.
