Seton Hill closed out the home portion of the regular season schedule with a Senior Day matchup with Pitt Johnstown on Saturday afternoon at DSG Field. Prior to the match, the Griffins honored their 14 seniors.
The Griffins made it a senior day to remember as they scored seven times in a 7-0 victory over the Mountain Cats. SHU is now 10-4-3 overall and 5-2-2 in the west.
Vasilis Christodoulou got the Griffins on the board in the 18th minute. Less than three minutes later he scored his second of the game to extend the Griffins lead to 2-0. With a little less than 13 minutes to play in the half, Christodoulou scored his third of the game to extend the lead to three.
Nils Heinrich added the fourth goal of the half for the Griffins.
Thirteen minutes into the second half, Christodoulou scored his fourth of the contest.
Keegan Amos and
Tom Frank scored the final two goals for the Griffins.
SHU outshot UPJ 18-8 in the contest and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Christodoulou led the offense with four goals.
James Aubrey had three assists. Heinrich added a goal and assist.
Jonathan Leary had two saves in the win.
The Griffins are currently tied with Slippery Rock with 17 points with one game remaining. Lock Haven is fourth with 15 points. The top three teams in the PSAC West standings make the PSAC Tournament.
SHU will close out the regular season next Friday at Slippery Rock.
