Men's Basketball Defeats Frostburg State

Seton Hill continued play in the Atlantic Regional Challenge in Frostburg on Sunday with a matchup with the host Frostburg State.  

The Griffins jumped out to a twenty eight point halftime lead and cruised to an easy 85-46 victory.  SHU is now 2-0 on the season while Frostburg falls to 1-1.

Frostburg came out of the gates quick, hitting a pair of three pointers to take an early 3-0 lead over the Griffins.  The Griffins responded with a 12-0 run including three pointers from James Rice and Gage Lattimore which put the Griffins in front 12-6 with 14 minutes left in the half.  Midway through the half, the Bobcats cut the SHU lead to 19-17.  

A three point play from Kedrick Curtis started an 8-0 SHU run to push the lead back to ten with 7:56 left in the half.  Two Bobcat free throws trimmed the lead to 27-19 with 7:37 to play.  SHU then closed the half on a 22-2 run as they took a 49-22 halftime lead.  

The Griffins then used an 16-1 run over a six minute stretch in the early portion of the second half to build their lead to forty points.  SHU was able to build their lead to as many as 43 points in the second half.  

Curtis led four Griffins in double figures with 16 points.  Rice and Dimitri Sklavenitis each added 13 points.  Kaspar Martenson also reached double figures with 10 points.  Gabe Gillespie and Lattimore each scored eight points.  

SHU shot 53% from the field while holding Frostburg to just 28%.  

SHU will continue non conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Bloomsburg.
