Griffins Defeat Bloomsburg

Box Score Seton Hill continued non conference play as they traveled to Bloomsburg on Wednesday evening. 
 
The Griffins pulled away in the second half to defeat the Huskies 75-57 to improve to 3-0 on the season.    
 
Bloomsburg took an early 9-6 lead at the first media timeout of the contest.  Back to back layups from Brian Belade and Dimitrios Sklavenitis gave SHU a 14-13 lead with 12:40 to play in the half.  The Huskies answered with a 7-0 run to take a 20-14 lead at the midway point of the half.
 
In a little over a two minute span, the Griffins went on a 9-0 run to take a 23-20 lead with 7:38 left in the half.  Kedrick Curtis had a three point play in the run.  Ryan Meis put the Griffins back in front 29-28 with 5:12 to play.  Meis then broke a 36-36 tie with a three pointer at the buzzer that gave SHU a 39-36 lead. 
 
The Griffins began the second half on a 7-2 run as they extended their lead to 46-38 with 15:32 left in the half.  Gage Lattimore scored four points in the run.  Meis hit another three and Edir Ortiz added a tip in as the Griffins pushed their lead to 51-38 with 13:25 to play.  The Griffins led 55-44 at the midway point of the second half. 
 
Seton Hill used a 9-2 run over a two minute span to extend their lead to 64-46 with 7:45 remaining in the contest.  Bloomsburg got back to within twelve at 67-55 with 3:51 to play.  SHU answered back with a Lattimore layup and James Rice three pointer to push the lead back to 72-55. 
 
Meis led the Griffins with 15 points.  Lattimore added 13 points.  Rice finished with nine points while Gage Gillespie and Belade each scored eight.
 
The Griffins will play at Davis & Elkins on Saturday afternoon at 4 PM.
