Seton Hill traveled to Slippery Rock for a PSAC West matchup on Friday evening.
The Griffins won the first set but the Rock responded with three straight set win for a 3-1 win over the Griffins. SHU falls to 18-6 overall and 7-4 in the west. The Rock is 10-11 overall and 3-6 in the west. Â
The Rock built an early 9-4 lead in the first set but the Griffins responded with a 4-0 run to trim the lead to one. The Griffins took their first lead of the set at 21-20 after kills from
Kendyl Wagner and
Payton Rodberg. Kills from
Paige Cole and
Catie Flohr gave SHU the first set with a 25-23 victory. Â
Slippery Rock used an 8-0 run in the second set to pull away and evened the match at one with a 25-15 second set win. The Rock used an 8-2 run in the third set to build a lead and took a 2-1 lead in the match with a 25-18 third set win. SHU took an early 5-2 lead in the fourth set. The Griffins led 14-12 in the set but the Rock went on a 7-1 run to take control of the set. The Rock would not trail again in the set and won the match with a 25-23 fourth set.
Cole led SHU with 13 kills. Flohr added 11.Â
Abby Oesterling led the attack with 31 assists.Â
Maddie Stout finished with 17 digs.
SHU will travel to Clarion next Wednesday fpr another PSAC West matchup.
