The Griffins took a break from PSAC West play as they hosted Shippensburg in a non conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon in Greensburg.
Seton Hill scored a goal in each half as they defeated the Raiders 2-1. SHU is now 7-1-2 overall on the season.
The Griffins took an early lead in the contest in the ninth minute of contest.
Tom Frank took a great pass from
Nils Heinrich and shot into an empty net for a 1-0 Griffin lead. Shippensburg responded four minutes later with a goal off a free kick. The free kick hit the post and the Raiders were able to bounce on the rebound and put it back into the net to tie the contest at one. SHU outshot the Raiders 8-7 in the half.
A little over twenty minutes into the second half the Griffins retook the lead off a corner kick.
Brandon Knapp found the head of
Esteban Moreira and Moreira hit the back of the net to put the Griffins in front 2-1. SHU controlled play in the second half, using the wind a their backs as they outshot the Raiders 13-1 in the half.
Frank led the Griffins with three shots on goal. Heinrich added two. Aidan Hollander made a save in the win.
SHU will travel to Bloomsburg on Saturday for another non conference matchup.
