Seton Hill hosted Malone in a non conference matchup on Monday evening in the McKenna Center.
Malone avenged an earlier season loss to the Griffins by sweeping Seton Hill 3-0. SHU falls to 13-3 overall while the Pioneers improve to 5-10 on the season. Â
The Pioneers broke a 20-20 tie with a 3-0 run and won five of the final six points of the first set as they took a 1-0 lead over the Griffins with a 25-21 victory. The second set featured long runs in the back half of the set. SHU trailed 16-10 but then ran off seven straight points on two kills from
Catie Flohr and
Ella Deeter as they took a 17-16 lead. Malone then responded with an 8-3 run as they took a 24-20 lead. The Griffins scored three straight before Malone closed out the set with a 25-23 win to take a 2-0 lead in the match. Â
Malone pulled away late in the third set with a 5-1 run that gave them a 20-13 lead. The Pioneers built their lead to 24-16 before the Griffins ran off six straight points to trim the lead to two at 24-22. Malone ended the match with a block that gave them a 25-22 third set win.
Paige Cole led SHU with 13 kills. Flohr added 9.

Maddie Stout finished with 10 digs.
SHU will return to PSAC West play on Friday evening when they host Pitt Johnstown.
