Seton Hill hosted Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon in a PSAC West battle at DSG Field.
The Rock scored a pair of goals in less than a two minute span as they were able to come back and defeat the Griffins 4-3 in a wild contest. SHU is now 7-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the west while the Rock is now 5-3-3 overall and 2-1-2 in the west.Â
Slippery Rock took an early lead in the first half with a goal off a corner kick in the 8th minute of the contest. SHU responded with a goal on a penalty kick by
Julian Marker with less than seven minutes to play in the first half. The game was tied at one at the halftime break. Â
The Rock scored right off the opening kickoff of the second half as they took a 2-1 lead just three seconds into the half. With about 24 minutes to play the Griffins tied the score on a goal from
Tristan Wilson. Wilson picked up a rebound off the keeper and deposited it into an empty net. About ten minutes later, the Griffins took a 3-2 lead.Â
Tom Frank jumped on a loose ball in the box off the keeper and found the back of the empty net to put the Griffins in front. A little over two minutes later the Rock tied the score at three. Just two minutes later, with about ten minutes to play, the Rock took a 4-3 lead. Â
Nils Heinrich had a pair of assists for SHU. He also led SHU with two shots on goal.Â
Aiden Hollander made three saves in net.
SHU will begin round two of PSAC play on Wednesday when they travel to CalU.Â
