Seton Hill ended PSAC Crossover play with a home matchup with Millersville on Wednesday evening in Greensburg.
The Griffins got off to a slow start, hitting just four of their first 29 shots, in a 67-56 loss to Millersville. SHU falls to 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the PSAC while Millersville improves to 4-8 overall and 2-4 in the PSAC.
SHU took their only lead of the contest on an opening free throw from
Christiane Frye. Midway through the quarter a three pointer from Frye cut the lead to 13-6. SHU was able to stay in the game by going 7-10 from the line in the first quarter as they trailed 21-14 after one.
Millersville opened the second quarter on a 13-1 run as they built a 34-15 lead with 6:40 to play in the half. SHU trailed 38-21 at the half.
The Marauders built their lead to twenty points at the 7:24 mark of the third quarter. Four points from Frye and a three point play from
Abby Mankins trimmed the lead to 43-30 just over a minute later.
Hallie Cowan hit a three and
Mia Kalich followed with a layup to trim the lead to 43-35 with 4:18 remaining. A three from Mankins late in the quarter cut the lead to six but a Marauders late basket gave them a 53-45 lead into the fourth quarter.

Helene Cowan followed with a layup as SHU cut the lead to 53-48 early in the fourth. After a Marauders basket,
Helene Cowan drilled a three to make it 55-51 with eight to play. Neither team scored until the five minute mark with the Marauders scoring four straight. Mankins scored three for SHU to cut the lead back to five with 3:19 left but that was as close as the Griffins would get as Millersville outscored the Griffins 8-2 down the stretch.
Mankins tied a career high with 17 points in the contest. Frye posted a double double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Hallie Cowan also reached double figures with 11 points.
Seton Hill will host Slippery Rock on Saturday to open PSAC West play.
