Seton Hill returned home to host Gannon on Friday evening in the McKenna Center in PSAC West action.
The Griffins battled the Golden Knights but fell in four sets.
Gannon won the first set by the score of 25-18. They increased their lead to 2-0 with a 25-19 second set win.
The Griffins bounced back in the third set with a 25-22 to cut the Gannon lead to 2-1. SHU used a 6-1 run early in the first set as they took a 9-7 lead.
Paige Cole and
Catie Flohr each had two kills and
Maddie Stout added an ace during the run. After Gannon took a 16-15 lead the Griffins ran off five straight to take a 20-16 lead. Flohr had two kills and a block and Cole added a block and kill during the run. Back to back kills from
Mara Yahner gave the Griffins the set win at 25-21.
The Golden Knights closed out the match with a 25-18 fourth set win.
Flohr led the Griffins with 19 kills. She added 3 blocks and 2 aces. Cole added 18 kills with eight digs.
Abby Oesterling had a match high 47 assists. She also led the Griffins with 12 digs.
Kendyl Wagner added 11 digs while Stout finished with 10.
Kaylee Mattera and Yahner each finished with five kills.
The Griffins continue PSAC West play on Saturday afternoon at noon when they host Mercyhurst.
