Seton Hill hosted Slippery Rock to open PSAC West play on a rainy, windy and chilly Saturday afternoon at Offutt Field in Greensburg, PA.
Slippery Rock used a 21-0 second quarter in route to a 35-14 victory over the Griffins. The 12th ranked Rock improves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the west while the Griffins fall to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the west.
The Griffins opened the game with an onside kick that they recovered to get the ball first. The drive ended after a fumble was recovered by the Rock at the SHU 36 yard line. The Rock took advantage of the short field and scored on a nine yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead with 13:18 left in the quarter. After a Griffin punt,
Cartier Gray intercepted a Rock pass and returned it to the Rock 13 yard line.
Ky'Ron Craggette scored from five yards out to tie the score at seven with 9:15 to play. Neither team was able to get anything going the rest of the quarter.
On their first possession of the second quarter, the Rock went 84 yards in ten plays, the last a three yard touchdown run to take a 14-8 lead early in the second quarter. Slippery Rock then took advantage of a short field and were able to extend their lead to 21-7 with 6:23 left in the half. SHU was able to drive to the Rock 20 yard line on their next possession but missed a field goal attempt. The Rock them went 80 yards in just 52 seconds to extend their lead to 28-7 with 19 seconds left.
Slippery Rock was able to put the game away in the third quarter with a 16 play, 97 yard drive that took nearly nine minutes off the clock. The last play was a four yard touchdown pass that pushed the Rock's lead to 35-7 with 2:35 to play in the third quarter. The Rock carried the 35-7 lead into the fourth quarter.

Hayden Teska hit
Cody Rubrecht with an 11 yard touchdown pass to trim the lead to 35-14. The Rock was able to close out the game with another nine minute drive to end the game.
Craggette rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown. Rubrecht caught four passes for 26 yards and a touchdown.
Musa Tama led the Griffins with 11 total tackles.
Josh Cohen added nine tackles and a sack.
The Griffins will host Gannon next Saturday at 4 PM for homecoming on the Seton Hill campus.
