The Seton Hill volleyball team continued PSAC West play on Friday evening in Johnstown, PA with a matchup with Pitt Johnstown.
Seton Hill won the first set and then the fourth set to send the match to a fifth set but saw UPJ rally in the fifth set for a five set win over the Griffins. SHU falls to 6-8 overall and 0-2 in the west while UPJ improves to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in the west.
The Griffins won the first set by a score of 26-24 before Pitt Johnstown won the next two sets by the score of 25-18 and 25-21 to take a 2-1 lead over the Griffins. Seton Hill rallied and cruised to a 25-14 fourth set win to send the match to a fifth set.
SHU jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the fifth set only to see the Mountain Cats rally for a 17-15 win in the fifth set.
Catie Flohr led the Griffins with 15 kills.
Payton Rodberg added seven kills.
Kaylee Mattera added six kills.
Abby Oesterling ran the offense with 30 assists.
Maddie Stout led SHU with 17 digs. Oesterling added 13 digs and
Kendyl Wagner finished with 10. Flohr led SHU with eight blocks.
The Griffins are off until next Friday when they host Gannon.
