Griffins Clinch G-MAC Regular Season Title

Box Score Seton Hill made the trip to North Canton, OH for a G-MAC matchup with Walsh under the lights on Wednesday evening. 
 
The Griffins took control of the contest with a 6-2 second quarter and defeated the Cavaliers by the score of 13-5.  SHU is now 10-4 overall and 6-0 in the G-MAC which clinches the G-MAC Regular Season title. 
 
Seton Hill scored the first two goals of the contest as they built a 2-0 lead midway through the first quarter.  Connor Zostant opened the scoring at the 13:01 mark and Andy Davis scored with 7:41 to play.  Walsh scored the final goal of the quarter as SHU led 2-1 after one quarter of play. 
 
Davis opened the scoring for the Griffins less than two minutes into the second quarter.  Walsh answered back less than a minute later to cut the Griffins lead to 3-2.  The Griffins then scored the next five goals of the contest to take control of the game.  Vincent Cogliandro scored with 10:36 to play in the half.  Jeremy Sforzo, Davis and Kage Williams scored in a three minute stretch as the Griffins built a 7-2 lead with 6:37 left in the half.  Carter Green scored with 1:54 to play in the half but the Cavs scored just thirty seconds later as the Griffins led 8-3 at the half. 
 
Mark Strunk scored just a few seconds into the third quarter as the Griffins built their lead to 9-3.  With 12:20 to play, the Cavaliers scored to cut the SHU lead back to five.  Peyton Gensler scored with just 1:49 to play in the quarter as SHU took a 10-4 lead. 
 
Gensler scored twice in a 29 second span to open the fourth quarter scoring.  Colin Socker closed out the scoring for the Griffins. 
 
Seton Hill outshot the Cavs 44-36.
 
Gensler led the offense with three goals and an assist.  Davis also scored three times.  Josh Miller made 12 saves in cage to earn the win. 
 
The Griffins will close out the regular season on Saturday as the host Davis & Elkins on Senior Day.
