Women's Lacrosse Wins Eighth Straight

The Griffin women's lacrosse team continued PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon with a road contest in Erie against Gannon.  

Seton Hill outscored Gannon by a 7-1 margin in the second period in route to a 15-8 victory over the Golden Knights.  SHU improves to 10-3 overall and 8-0 in the PSAC West.  The Griffins have won eight in a row.  

The teams got off to a slow start as neither team scored in the first twelve minutes of the contest.  Megan Bunker finally got the Griffins on the scoreboard at the 2:25 mark of the quarter.  Gannon answered right back twenty seconds later to tie the score at one.  Skylar Orlowski scored with 53 seconds to go in the quarter to give SHU a 2-1 advantage.  

The second quarter was all Seton Hill as they outscored the Golden Knights 7-1.  Orlowski scored just 46 seconds into the quarter as SHU took a 3-1 lead.  Orlowski and Grace Agnello scored 19 seconds apart as SHU extended the lead to 5-1 with 10:39 to play.  Elizabeth Tamasitis scored twice and Agnello scored her second as SHU pushed their lead to 8-1 with 6:31 to play before the half.  Gannon scored at the five minute mark before Orlowski scored with 44 seconds to play as SHU took a 9-2 halftime lead.  

Bunker and Agnello scored for Seton Hil to start the third quarter as SHU extended their lead to nine.  Gannon outscored the Griffins 2-1 over the final nine minutes of the quarter as they cut the SHU lead to 12-4 after three quarters.  

The Golden Knights scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter to trim the SHU lead to 12-7 with 12:36 to play in the fourth.  SHU answered right back with three straight goals, two from Agnello and one from Orlowski, as the Griffins pushed their lead to 15-7.  

Orlowski and Agnello led the Griffins with five goals each.  Bunker and Tamasitis each added two goals.  Carleigh Sutfin added a goal and assist.  Ruby DePalma added three assists and Mila Udovicic finished with two.  Kyleigh Hessian made eight saves in the win.

The Griffins will travel to Slippery Rock on Saturday for another PSAC West contest.
