Seton Hill continued PSAC West play with a doubleheader against Pitt Johnstown on Tuesday afternoon.
The Griffins defeated UPJ 9-1 in five innings in game one. SHU then completed the sweep with a 13-5 win in six innings in game two. SHU is now 13-7 overall and 6-0 in the PSAC West.
SHU jumped on UPJ for five runs in the bottom of the first of game one.
Nina Grandey led off with a single and moved to third on a
Mackenzie Zang single. After a pop up,
Lauren Dellett drove in Grandey and Zang with a double down the right field line.
Brooke Cleland singled to put two runners on.
Kylie Hegland singled to score Dellett and Cleland scored when Hegland stole second and the throw went into center field.
Abby Smearman singled to score Hegland and give SHU a 5-0 lead.
The Griffins added two more in the second. Grandey singled and stole second. She scored on a Zang single. Later in the inning, Zang scored on a Hegland ground out.
Seton Hill added their final two runs in the fourth.
Grace Paredes reached on an error and scored when Dellett homered to left center field.
Grandey and Dellett each went 3-3 in the win. Dellett drove in four runs. She also earned the win in the circle with the complete game effort. Lauren gave up one run on three hits while striking out seven. Zang and Cleland each had two hits.
In game two, Grandey singled to lead off the bottom of the first. She stole second and Zang was hit by a pitch. Both Grandey and Zang stole bases to put runners on second and third. Both runners then advanced on a wild pitch with Grandey scoring to give SHU a 1-0 lead.
UPJ scored twice in the second and once in the third as they took a 3-1 lead.
SHU responded with five runs in the third. After an out, Grandey walked and moved to second when Zang reached on a fielders choice. Both stole a bag and Paredes walked to load the bases. Cleland reached on an error with Grandey scoring. Hegland followed with a two RBI single that gave SHU a 4-3 lead. Smearman walked to reload the bases. Pinch hitter

Brooklyn Fukushima added an RBI single as SHU took a 6-3 lead.
Grandey singled to lead off the fourth. She stole second and moved to third on a Zang base hit. Grandey scored on a Paredes sacrifice fly.
The Mountain Cats got two runs back on a two run homer in the fifth.
Alexis Valencia and Zang each had RBI hits in the fifth as SHU built a 9-5 lead.
SHU ended the game in the sixth. Hegland singled to lead off the inning and scored on a Smearman double. Fukushima knocked in Smearman with a sacrifice fly. Valencia then reached on an error. She scored on a Grandey single. Zang singled and Paredes singled with Grandey scoring, giving SHU the eight run lead and the win.
Grandey and Zang each had three hits. Paredes, Hegland and Fukushima each added two hits.
The Griffins will return to action on Sunday when they host Edinboro in a PSAC West doubleheader.
